Abstract

The government is actively promoting SMEs and accelerating the
development of SMEs. Moreover, from the strategic role of the sector in
contributing 60.3 percent to Gross Domestic Product and 97.2 percent of
employment (BPS, 2016, www.bps.go .id). The contribution of SME has proven to
be very significant for the national economy and the development of SME is seen
as one of the keys to encourage national growth.
The purpose of this study are 1) know the profile of shoe shoes; 2) know
the production process and to analyze the performance and competitive strategy
of SME of Shoes, and 3) know the development strategy of SME of shoes. With the
method of research conducted as follows; 1) Mapping SME Profile of shoes; 2)
Performance Analysis and Competitive Strategy of SME shoes; 3) SWOT
Analysis, and 4) Feasibility of Strategy and Concept of SME Model of shoes.
The results and discussion of this research are as follows: Shoe
production process is still simple In this case the size of performance based on the
perception of industry players on a moderate scale, while expectations are on a
high scale. these attributes for SMEs of shoes in Bogor more developed in the
future. Based on the performance mapping of SMEs of shoes in Bogor 1)
weakness in the form of a gap in most of its attributes; 2) competitive advantage
of SME is based on comparative advantage; and 3) the type of assistance from the
Government / related institutions is relatively more oriented towards the type of
assistance that contains the economic content of the knowledge content, so that
the positive impact is short term. Shoes that are the flagship product of SME in
Bogor need better coaching in terms of production processes and production
facilities in the form of equipment and training aid to produce higher quality
products.
